We are running 6.0.1 clients with 6.0.1CF1 on a Windows 2000 server.
Using the steps found in the Notes documentation and on this forum, I created a corporate welcome page database from the Bookmarks (6) template, designed a custom welcome page with the advanced design features toggled on, and saved my page with a leading dollar sign. I confirmed that $CurrentLayout was in the notes.ini file.
Next, I created a desktop setting, dragged in the link to the corporate welcome page database and selected my welcome page from the drop-down list. The desktop setting was then incorporated into our organizational policy.
The problem is: It doesn't work.
No one is getting the corporate welcome page when they log in after the change, even though other settings changed in the desktop policy do update. Even worse, every time I reboot my system, the $CurrentLayout value disappears from my .ini file, and when I go to the Desktop Settings document, the welcome page name disappears from the dropdown list.
We had promised this feature to the company as part of our Notes 6 upgrade, and our credibility is suffering. I welcome any suggestions. Thank you.
